Sculptra
Quick Facts About Sculptra
- Used For: Correction of volume loss of the temples, midface, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and jawline.
- Down Time: Minimal to None. Some swelling and bruising can be present after the injections and last for a few days.
- How It Works: Sculptra is composed of Poly-L-Lactic Acid which stimulates your body’s own collagen production. After injecting Sculptra underneath the skin, the deeper layers of the skin begin working to build new collagen through a process called neo-collagenesis. This gradual improvement occurs over 3-6 months and lasts 18-24 months.
- What to Expect: Sculptra is injected through a series of treatments (usually 3-5) that occur 6 weeks apart. This gradual improvement in collagen is usually apparent after 3-5 months. After your first round of treatments, yearly enhancement injections are used and are typically 1 round of sculptra per year for maintenence.
