Fat Transfer

Quick Facts About Fat Transfer

  • Used For: Correction of volume loss using the patient’s own fat – usually transferred to the cheeks, chin, jawline, middle face, temples, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.
  • Down Time: 3-4 days
  • Side Effects: Some bruising and swelling is expected. Minimal to no discomfort of the donor site.
  • How It Works: Fat is taken from the flanks, abdomen, or buttocks and, after a process of fat cell separation, small fat cells are able to be injected or transferred into areas of volume loss in the face including the cheeks, temples, chin, nasolabial folds.
  • What to Expect: Immediate improvement in facial volume. As swelling resolves, the final results become apparent. Your body will continue to nurture the fat cells and produce new collagen to support the new cells (usually over 6-9 months), resulting in long lasting and natural volume enhancement.
