Small Chin

A small chin is one that lacks adequate projection. The reasons behind this arise from the skeleton itself and are often genetic in nature. Bite occlusion or an underbite may also be a sign that the mandible has not fully developed to an adequate projection.

A small or weak chin can lead to disproportionate features of the lower face. This is an often overlooked part of the enhancement of facial harmony. Many patients notice that they dislike their profile and that their neckline may lack definition.

Treatment Options

Correction of small chins can be done surgically through a chin augmentation or through non-surgical options with injectable fillers.

See the Chin Augmentation or Injectable Fillers page for more information.
