Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

Quick Facts About Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)

  • Used For: Correction of excess skin of the eyelids or under eye circles or bags (pseudoherniation of fat)
  • Down Time: 1-2 weeks
  • Side Effects: Most common side effect is bruising and swelling.

What to Expect

Depending on whether you need excess skin removed or not, you may have an incision just under the lower eyelid or above the upper eyelid. This incision is hidden in a wrinkle and, over time, heals very well and is very difficult to find.  There will be some swelling and bruising. You will be able to get back to light activity the following day after surgery. Small sutures will be removed 7 days after surgery.
