Facial cysts can be caused by a number of reasons. Most commonly cysts contained within the skin can be a result of skin cells that get trapped under the skin surface. This typically forms a round, firm mass under the skin. Occasionally these cysts can drain or emit a slight odor.
What is the Treatment?
Typically the best treatment for facial cysts is complete excision including removal of any drainage tracts if they are present. If the cyst is large or in a cosmetically sensitive area, it may be best to perform drainage of the cyst.
